Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Glen Ridge Library, we are excited to bring you free monthly public screenings of award-winning environmental documentaries.
The series kicks off with a special premiere of the film Love Thy Nature is on Thursday December 8th at 7:30pm at the Glen Ridge Train Station. Doors open at 7:15.
Narrated by Liam Neeson, Love Thy Nature is a cinematic immersion into the beauty and intimacy of our relationship with the natural world. And while our environmental crisis threatens the survival of our species, a renewed connection with nature holds the key to a highly advanced new era. Green Film Series
The Glen Ridge Environmental Advisory Committee is pleased to present the film Before the Flood on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 7:30pm at the Glen Ridge Train Station. Doors open at 7 pm
From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Fisher Stevens and Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Before the Flood presents a riveting account of the dramatic changes now occurring around the world due to climate change, as well as the actions we as individuals and as a society can take to prevent catastrophic disruption of life on our planet.
The film follows DiCaprio as he travels to five continents and the Arctic speaking to scientists, world leaders, activists and local residents to gain a deeper understanding of this complex issue and investigate concrete solutions to the most pressing environmental challenge of our time.

The Glen Ridge Environmental Advisory Committee is pleased to present the film, THE WISDOM TO SURVIVE, on Thursday, March 16th at 7:30 PM at Fitzgerald's Sidecar, 413 Herman St in Glen Ridge. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
The film examines the challenges that climate change poses and discusses meaningful action that can be taken by individuals and communities. Will we have the wisdom to survive? The film features thought leaders and activists in the realms of science, economics and spirituality discussing how we can evolve and take action in the face of climate disruption. They urge us to open ourselves to the beauty that surrounds us and get to work on ensuring it thrives.
