Eco Fair 2019
2019 marked the 11th anniversary of the Glen Ridge Eco-Fair, held in conjunction with the borough’s 41st annual Arts Festival! This family-fun festival featured a spectacular lineup of vendors and participants; eco-friendly gifts for Mother’s Day; an Auto Evolution Show displaying cars from antiques to electric; demonstrations of rain barrels, composting and vegetable gardening; fresh local cuisine; and all day live entertainment and performances by local musicians including our very own high school jazz band.
Home Depot showcased eco-friendly and cost-efficient products, and kids built a backyard birdhouses and picture frames at their workshop. Other popular vendors included Pearl premium grass, Yogic Chai, Oak Lane Soaps, Rain Lily, Young Living essential oils, organic skin care products, hand-made jewelry, Glen Ridge honey from our own Bee Bold Apiaries. Herbs and native plants were on sale. PAWS volunteers were on hand with adoptable animals. There were Recycling, Composting, and Vegetable Garden stations.
The Glen Ridge Eco-fair and the Arts Festival renew our community’s commitment to promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle and a greater respect for the environment in which we all live. By promoting these services and products, we hope to encourage everyone to become more conscientious about our choices and purchases. Indeed, it takes a village.
The Eco-Fair was sponsored by the borough’s Environmental Advisory Committee, the Glen Ridge Women’s Club and Pearl Premium Grass. As in past years, it was held in conjunction with the Arts Festival, making all-day live entertainment by local musicians and food concessions a vibrant part of the day’s festivities.
