National Programs
There are a wide variety of national programs that address the environment. Here are a few:
•AgSTAR - the program encourages the use of methane recovery (biogas) technologies at the confined animal feeding operations that manage manure as liquids or slurries. These technologies reduce methane emissions while achieving other environmental benefits.
•Burn-Wise - a partnership program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that emphasizes the importance of burning the right wood, the right way, in the right wood-burning appliance to protect your home, health and the air we breathe.
•Carpet America Recovery Effort - an initiative to increase the amount of recycling and re-use of post-consumer carpet which ultimately reduces the amount of carpet going to landfills.
